These postcards were created by women survivors of gender-based violence/hatred and others who are concerned with women’s oppression. The postcards are visual representations of lived experiences and serve to more accurately depict the empowering and disempowering experiences of women. By displaying women’s personal stories in public space, I intend to politicize women’s personal and raise awareness of women's issues in an attempt to stop acts of gender-based violence/hatred.

Sometimes in order to better ourselves and situations, we need to leave behind those that we considered "friends". I'm glad that you recognized that this was not the kind of "friend" that you needed in your life.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it took a punch in the face to realize that this person really was not a friend. When we are younger we are just trying to fit in somewhere so we make bad chooses in some of our friendships. I'm sure you are more wise in your choose of friends now.
